A simple-minded and straightforward general. Tantalo has a very competitive spirit; if there is a strong opponent, he must fight him or her. Tantalo hates any delicate jobs and considers war to be clashing against each other while using up all one's energy up. Instead of employing a complicated strategy, he tries to charge the enemy in a straight line. However, his plan always falls to pieces because of others' resistance.

While he is more trustworthy than anyone else in battle due to the massive force coming from his gigantic body, there is a lot of skepticism over letting him take command of troops.

He admires Benten as a great general for having great battle skills and for being smart. He believes Benten's orders are worth following despite the fact that Benten is younger than himself.
